Potty Cover Review and Hump Day Giveaway

This week I was given the chance to review Potty Cover, a line of disposable toilet seat covers designed for children. And yes, if you read this post, you’ll get a chance to win a set of Potty Covers free with this week’s Hump Day Giveaway!

I gotta tell you, I really wish someone had invented these things a decade ago. I remember potty training. While my daughter was easy to potty train (we literally had a conversation one day and that was it), my son took almost TWO YEARS to fully potty train! He was the type to sit on a toilet seat –anywhere – and dangle his legs, sing a song, talk about the weather – anything really to delay the situation. And it’s not like I could try to rush this!

So I used to cringe when he would decide he needed to “go” while we were out in public. Even with the standard toilet seat covers that many public restrooms now provide, it was still harrowing, as he’d hold onto parts of the toilet that the seat cover did not reach. Now, of course, I put down toilet paper in those spots, but it would end up all over the floor and really be a hassle to clean up.

What I would have given for these Potty Covers then! They are very large, and have a flap of sorts that covers the front side of the toilet. You know, the part that gets kicked as toddlers swing their legs. And they have flaps on the sides as well so you don’t have to worry about what part of the toilet your child is touching.

The only bad part about them is that they are not flushable. You’ll need to throw them away in a regular trashcan like you would a diaper. I was concerned that when they are used that they would fall into the toilet like the flushable ones that you find in public restrooms did, but that is not the case. I used some and my daughter used some and we found that the design made it difficult to “cave in”. They sort of grip the toilet seat and are really easy to use.

Plus, they come wrapped individually which makes it easy to throw a couple in your purse! Even though my kids are tweens now, we actually enjoyed having them around for those “ewww” moments. I stuck one in the glove compartment box of the truck for emergencies as well.

Potty Covers can be found at Buy Buy Baby and some Bed Bath and Beyond stores throughout the country, or you can get them on Amazon or eBay.
